<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article deals with written and oral versions of the famous Buddhist composition “The History of Uneker Torelkitu Khan”. The Buddha himself often told various stories to his disciples; those were both didactic in content and fascinating in form. The Buddhist tradition views such compositions as one of the ways to preach the teaching. Those gained wide popularity and existed both in written and oral forms. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>буддийская литература</kwd><kwd>рукопись</kwd><kwd>устная форма бытования</kwd><kwd>сказочный сюжет</kwd><kwd>язык произведения</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Buddhist literature</kwd><kwd>manuscript</kwd><kwd>oral form</kwd><kwd>fairy tale plot</kwd><kwd>language of the composition</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Меняев Б.
