Введение. В статье раскрываются вопросы организации службы буддийского духовенства на Дону во второй половине XIX в., осуществленные в период реформы административно-территориального управления Калмыцким кочевьем. В этом смысле данная публикация является продолжением статьи, опубликованной в предыдущем году в третьем номере научного журнала «Монголоведение». Цель статьи ― показать общественно-полезную деятельность буддийского духовенства, введение его в административную систему управления области Войска Донского, роль в развитии образования, полном, окончательном переходе донских калмыков к оседлой жизни и хозяйствованию. Результаты. Крупная реформа поземельного устройства в Калмыцком кочевье и службы буддийского духовенства с изменением статуса его главного иерарха произошла в 1870-х гг. Буддийское духовенство в годы войны, социальных потрясений вместе со своим народом испытало их последствия.
Introduction. The article reveals the issues of the organization of the service of the Buddhist clergy on the Don in the second half of the 19th century, implemented during the reform of the administrative and territorial administration of the Kalmyk nomad. In this sense, this article is a continuation of the article published in the previous year in the 3rd issue of the scientific journal “Mongolian Studies”.
